I’m not sure how/what/when/where/how….
“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball…”
…. I originally started making these regular blog series.
All I know is, is that it started on my first ever blog back in university (and in the blogger graveyard that doth remain, never to surface again).
Cloudy and vague past memories of MDGB (info if needed) reminded me that there definitely was some sort of regular blog series, but I cannot for the life of me remember the theme or even it’s name.
What I do remember, though, is that that blog series on MDBG saved my arse many-a-time when I couldn’t muster even a sliver of energy or motivation to write something remotely read-worthy.
Most of the time, I’d save up memes and links throughout the week that I thought were shareworthy.
And, yet, people still tuned in!
And so, here we find ourselves, beloved reader.
My brain decided to push the (some might say) pitiful and puny name of ‘An Anxiety and Mental Health Pit Stop’ in front of my eyes.

Mental Health and Anxiety Pit Stop was born!
This’ll be a weekly series posted every Friday where you can expect to find:
- Useful anxiety/mental health links
- Silly memes I pick up during the week
- Political rants that don’t belong anywhere else (I’ll try to keep these minimal, but I can’t promise that whilst the tree-trunk-cankle-turd of a US president is in office and continues to affect the whole flipping planet)
- UK Secondary school teaching bits and bobs (again, I’ll keep this relevant and appropriate)
- Viz Comic screenshots, specifically from my Roger’s Profanisaurus dictionary

- Screenshots from another book that suits a dry sense of humour and is an acquired taste, probably. Titled Shite’s Unoriginal Miscellany, by A. Parody

- And more that I’ll grace your eyes with ad libitum
So, without further adieu, here is the first instalment of Mental Health and Anxiety Pit Stop, #1!
**Trigger warning**
For those in the UK where I write this from, there have been two high profile deaths as of late.
Firstly, the shocking news of the murder of Anne Widdecombe (as despised were her right-wing politics) – here’s the BBC live page (11th July, 2026)
Secondly, another passing of Dermot Murnaghan who sadly succumbed to stage IV prostate cancer. Read more here. I remember seeing Dermot in the early 2000s on the news as a young’un.
Now, to more news…

Yes, tonight as I write this, England are due to play Norway which kicks off at 10pm UK time.
I can honestly say that I would rather have Gizmo’s primordial pouch slap me over the face continuously and forever, or listen to him screech for twenty four hours straight, or be trampled on by Benny and his twiglet legs, than be a pub watching the match.
But it is nice to see that rules are being relaxed for those that want to.
Speaking of the one brain-cell sharing buggers…

And just because I didn’t want to leave Nuttie out…

And finally, I’d like to share a few links that I’ve found on my internet wandering that you might find useful.
Here you go:
- For my seasoned teacher friends that might be reading this, you might find this comical: 50 Signs That You’ve Been Teaching a Long Time
And a reminder for you…

Another little reminder…

And, finally, if you fancy a chuckle (and I say this with a pinch of salt – it might not suit your sense of humour), have a watch of some of this Tik Toker’s videos.
His facial reactions are hilarious 😅
That’s all folks!
Lots of love,
Jess
